Starter Equipment

So you're considering becoming a DJ? Well here's
my recommendation on what equipment to get. Well
becaue your just starting I recommend you get a
simple two channel mixer. The Soundlab "DSM15",
this is a cheap (79.95) mixer which is perfect
for beginners. Now for the decks, you don't want
to spend like 600 on a pair of Technics so I
recommend that you get either a pair of Soundlab
"DLP1600's" or "DLP1's". The DLP1600 is great for
beginners at only 90, or if you've got a bit more
money you can get a pair of "DLP1's" for 120-130
new including Stantons. You can purchase this hard
ware from almost any DJ retailer or at Sapphires
Sound and Light by ordering on their website:
www.sapphires.co.uk
or you can email them:
[email protected]
Tel: 0181 450 0318
You can also purchase packages from Youngs Disco
Centre which is a well established reputable DJ
hardware store. They're based at 20 Malden Road,
Kentish Town, London, NW5 3HN. Tel: 0171 4851115
Fax: 0171 267 6769
When purchasing a complete disco package from
Young's Disco Centre, quote "S.Robertson" and
"Invoice Number 325737" and if you show proof of
this I might even give you 5!! Their website is
at http://www.surflink.co.uk/users/youngs
or you can email them:
[email protected]
